While I disagree with the ludicrous ' security precautions ' enforced at our airports. If they are to be used, they must be foisted on everyone, absolutely no exceptions!

Sydney Airport is now privately owned. New rules have been introduced ‘ for security reasons ‘ You can not stop your car outside arrivals of at least two of the terminals to pickup people arriving in Sydney. You have to pull into the car park and those you are picking up have to dodge the traffic with their luggage to get to the car. There are exceptions of course, there always are. Taxis and buses can stop there.

And when the question was asked about excepting the first half hour of car parking fees the answer was no.

That’s right your typical suicide bomber would never take his suitcase full of explosives on a bus or in a taxi. And of course he would also not detonate his bomb outside the departures areas! Or in the car park, where he would have to pay on the way out . Are explosives cheaper than parking?

The object of terrorism is to change things, governments, decisions and even just peoples’ attitudes. Whenever something is changed because of security reasons, in the light of a terrorist threat, the terrorists have won. They have drawn attention to themselves and changed the way we live. Australia used to be a free country.
